The Hittite Culture

The Hittites were famous for their skill in building and using chariots. They also pioneered the manufacture and use of iron. The Hittites were the first to master iron-making, and this can be seen in their weaponry. Agriculture is very important in the Hittite culture. That is how they survived and made a living. They domesticated asses, horses, cows and raised honey bee.
The Hittites planted grapes, apple, pomegranate, trigo and barley.

They interacted and traded with other cilvilizations in the Mesopatamia area.
The Hittites mainly traded Gold, silver, copper, and lead.
Although they spoke an Indo-European language, the Hittites adopted many of the traditions of Mesopotamia, including the cuneiform writing system. At the capital, Hattusa, Archaeologists have excavated royal archives written in cuneiform on clay tablets. The Hittites had many different languages. They used 9 languages within their territories. The Akkadian language is used for communication while the Sumerian language is used for literature.
